Spring into Arts Festival: Call to Photographers & Videographers
CONCORD, N.C., April 11, 2018 – Spring into Arts Festival hosts Photo & Video Contests.
The Spring Into Arts Festival is an annual family-friendly event in Downtown Concord that showcases and promotes the visual and performing arts. Participants can expect to enjoy the juried art show, musical entertainment, locally crafted beer & wine, fantastic food, and a children's creation station.
Fun & Free in Downtown Concord
CONCORD, N.C., April 9, 2018 – Spring is here! As families venture to Downtown Concord they will now find a variety of new activities being offered for all ages, absolutely free.
Join local author and historian Michael Eury a Guided Historic Walking Tour of of Downtown Concord, this Saturday, April 14 from 10:30 - 11:45 a.m.!
Learn the history behind the historic Paramount Theatre or take in what was once Town Square with accompanying photographs; just a few of the many stories on the tour!
Join instructor Susan Edmonson on Thursdays May 3 and May 10 for a two session lesson on quilt necklaces.
This unique and artistic way of piecing is very simple by band or on a sewing machine. The embroidery, beading and embellishments add personality.
New this year, the Spring into Arts Festival Committee is accepting photographs and videos of Downtown Concord as part of a photography and videography component to the festival! Interested participants are encouraged to submit photos and/or videos with the subject being Downtown Concord for an opportunity to be on display during the festival and a chance to win $200 in Downtown Concord Dollars to be spent in over 35 eateries and shops in Downtown Concord!
On Thursday, May 17 starting at 5 p.m., the streets of Concord will be packed with locals and NASCAR fans catching a glimpse of more than 30 MONSTER Energy NASCAR Cup car haulers as they make their way down Union Street en route to Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Join the Concord Friends of the Library, Inc. on Tuesday, April 24 for Biking Across America. This free, family friendly event will be held at the Concord Public Library in the auditorium on the 2nd floor. Concord's own Mike Eudy will share lively stories about his amazing cross-country bicycling adventure.
Join instructor Susan Edmonson at the Cabarrus Art Guild on Wednesday, May 2 from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. to learn embroidery embellishment in her Coneflower Garden workshop.
If you haven't been in one of Susan's embroidery embellishment classes now is your chance. This is one of her favorites as she loves coneflowers in every color! The unusual textures of this little piece of art are sure to inspire. Using distinctive fabrics and threads students will create an exclusive piece of art.

The annual Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) Arts Walk & Exhibit will take place on Friday, April 20th, in Downtown Concord from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Join the City of Concord Parks & Recreation Department this Saturday, March 31 for the Bunny Run 5K & Festival! The event includes a 5K & Fun Run through Downtown Concord followed by a free festival with inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts, games and the Easter Bunny! Run will begin on Means Avenue (beside the Historic County Courthouse) in Downtown Concord.
