Streetlight 5K & Frolic

Concord Parks & Recreation is hosting the Streetlight 5K & Frolic on Friday, July 13 from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Streetlight 5K will take place in Historic Downtown Concord. The start/finish line will be on Means Avenue and the race will run through Downtown Concord and utilize the green-way system. 

Watercolor Journal @ Cabarrus Art Guild

Join instructor Anne Glacken on Saturday, July 14 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to create your own Watercolor Journal at the Cabarrus Art Guild! This class is perfect for those that have never made a journal. 

Participants will learn how to make covers, hand tear paper in order to have beautiful deckled edges, how to punch the signatures for sewing and how to sew it all together with the French Link stitch.

Johnson Bray to Serve as CDDC Executive Director


CONCORD, N.C., June 4, 2018 – The Concord Downtown Development Corporation (CDDC) has selected Johnson Y. Bray to lead the organization as its new Executive Director. Bray is currently the Planning Director and Main Street Coordinator for the Town of Troy, North Carolina. In addition to his duties with the Town of Troy, Bray also serves as the Executive Director of the Troy Neighborhood Redevelopment Corporation, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Prior to his work in Troy, Bray was employed as a Research Analyst at DavenportLawrence in Aberdeen, NC.
