2012 “Spring into Arts” Festival

Rules and Regulations

Arts Exhibitors Application Process
Submit the completed application, along with three slides/photographs, a description of your medium/craft, and a biography of your talents.  Booth fee is $75.00 for this juried festival if application is received by March 1, 2012.  Fee for those applying after March 1, 2012 is $100.00.  Applications received after March 1, 2012, but before April 19, 2012, will only be considered if space is available.  No applications will be accepted after April 19, 2012.   Application fee will be returned if the exhibitor is not accepted into the festival.  Exhibitors are selected based upon the following criteria:
Eligibility
a.      Artwork must be designed and handcrafted by the exhibitor.
b.      Artwork is defined as paintings, drawings, woodcraft, pottery, basketry, photography, jewelry, stained glass, weaving, fiber art, etc. based upon the North Carolina Arts Council’s arts/crafts grants descriptions.  Any work made from the artist’s original molds is acceptable.
c.      Work not eligible includes work that is made from kits, molds, patterns, and manufactured, and/or imported items.
Quality of work
Each artist will be judged on both artistic merit and booth presentation based on the following criteria:
Artistic Merit
Design and Composition of Pieces
Technique and Skill of Construction
Creativity and Originality
Booth Presentation
Overall Presentation of Work
Booth’s Appearance is Inviting
Booth’s Set-up Compliments the Work

You must submit photographs of your art work.  Your photographs will be returned to you if you enclose a self-addressed/stamped envelope with your application.

Rules that apply to ALL Vendors

  • You will be supplied a 10’ x 10’ space.  You must bring your own tables, tents/tarps, chairs and other needed material including materials to protect your product from inclement weather.  Tents must be anchored.  No stakes can be driven into pavement or ground.  Only bucket anchors are allowed.
  • The Festival will be held rain or shine.  No refunds will be given due to inclement weather.
  • All vendors must use a tent that they provide for their exhibit.
  • Each exhibitor is responsible for collection of North Carolina and Cabarrus County sales tax and payment thereof to the North Carolina Department of Revenue.  The committee is not acting as an agent and will not be responsible for the collection or payment of any sales tax.
  • The Festival is family oriented.  All exhibits must be in keeping with this atmosphere.  The committee shall have the discretion to require the removal of any work that violates the festival’s rules.
  • The “Spring Into Arts” Festival will not be responsible in any way for any damages to the work of any person or persons participating in the festival.

Once an artist is accepted into the festival, no refunds will be made.
